    In Tampa Bay, the 2010 Free Teen Program kicked off May 15 with help from Former Buccaneer Derrick Brooks. At the close of the program on August 15, nearly 2,680 teens enjoyed the benefits of the program in Polk, Sarasota, Manatee, Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties. Lifestyle Family Fitness donated around $423,440 in memberships to area teens. In total 11,536 teens enrolled in the program across all Lifestyle Family Fitness regions.

    In these tough economic times, it is rare to find a company that puts a full work day on hold to celebrate the hard work and effort put in by its employees. Lifestyle Family Fitness will hold its annual Employee Festival for all Ohio and Indiana employees and their families on September 26. In addition to fun games and family activities, proceeds from the events that day will benefit the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Patient Assistance.

    The number of obese and overweight adolescents continues to grow at rapid speeds. An estimated 14% of teens in the United States are overweight and this number has tripled in the last 20 years.* This summer Lifestyle Family Fitness opened its club doors to teens ages 12-17 for free for two months to help combat this growing epidemic. In Charlotte, the 2010 Free Teen Program kicked off May 15 and ended August 15 with nearly 200 teens enrolled in the program which means Lifestyle Family Fitness donated around $31,600 in memberships to area teens.

    This summer Lifestyle Family Fitness opened its club doors to teens ages 12-17 for free for two months to help combat this growing epidemic. In Columbus, the 2010 Free Teen Program kicked off May 15 with help from The Director for the Institute for Active Living, Barb Seckler and OSU Strength and Condition Coach Eric Lichter. At the close of the program on August 15, nearly 1,000 teens enjoyed the benefits of the program. Lifestyle Family Fitness donated around $158,000 dollars in memberships to area teens. In total 11,536 teens enrolled in the program across all Lifestyle Family Fitness regions.

    This summer Lifestyle Family Fitness opened its club doors to teens ages 12-17 for free for two months to help combat this growing epidemic. As the initiative comes to a close the numbers are proof that local Indianapolis families are taking control of the health of their family. In Indianapolis, the 2010 Free Teen Program kicked off May 15 with help from First Lady Cheri Daniels and Indiana’s Health Initiative, INShape Indiana. Nearly 380 teens enjoyed the benefits of the program. Lifestyle Family Fitness donated around $47,400 dollars in memberships to area teens.

    When close to one million Hoosiers pack up their families and head to the Indiana State Fair, Lifestyle Family Fitness (LFF) will be there to jump start the day with a fun, fitness event for the entire family. As part of Governor Daniels’ INShape Indiana SummerFit Plaza, LFF will open their Outdoor Series to all fair goers for free, encouraging local families to lace up their sneakers and get moving. The first 200 pre-registrants will receive free entry to the fair and a Lifestyle Family Fitness t-shirt.

    Lifestyle Family Fitness members and guests will lace up their dancing shoes and participate in a club wide dance-off on July 31 in celebration of the first annual National Dance Day (D-Day). Started by the brains behind the popular show, So You Think You Can Dance, D-Day is an initiative encouraging the nation to get moving. Group Fitness Instructors at all 55 club locations will lead members and their guests through a one hour dance class while accepting donations to benefit the Dizzy Feet Foundation.

    On July 17 Lifestyle Family Fitness and Columbus’ public health initiative, the Institute for Active Living, will encourage local residents to get in-shape during a free outdoor fitness event lead by Lifestyle Family Fitness Group Fitness Instructors. Local families will enjoy a fun day of calorie burning while donating to two local charities, the Mid-Ohio Food Bank and the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Patient Assistance. Each participant will receive free admission that day to the Franklin Conservatory and a Lifestyle Family Fitness t-shirt

    Lifestyle Family Fitness Hyde Park worked hard on May 15 as members and staff underwent a day of fitness to raise money in support of the Lavoy Exceptional Center and the Freedom Playground Foundation’s vision of building a playground for children with all abilities. The Freedom Playground Foundation is a non-profit organization that brings together children and adults of all abilities to create barrier-free play environments helping children build strength, develop socialization skills, meet challenges and make friends.
